In this lecture-style class, Blue of Aobittybaby discusses how to make the jump from amateur cosplayer to professional in the theatre industry. This class will cover the current state of the professional costuming industry, the best way to land an interview, what skills and techniques you'll need to have under your belt, and how to prepare for a sewing test. This lecture will have a Q&A portion at the end in order to answer questions and give one-on-one advice to students.
In this lecture you'll learn:
- Current industry standards for skills, techniques, and more
- Where to start when looking for work in theatre
- How to prepare for an interview, sewing test, and more
Prerequisite Skills:
- Strong sewing skills
- Previous professional or amateur theatre experience is a plus, but not required
About the Instructor:
Blue has been cosplaying since 2012 and has been working in the theatrical costuming industry in NYC for the past two years. You can find them on Tiktok and Instagram.
The Nitty Gritty:
- To participate in this class you must be at least 16 years of age
- Space is limited and all tickets are first come first serve
- Purchasing a ticket reserves one (1) seat at this class. For multiple tickets, please add more than one ticket to your cart
- All tickets are final sale. In the event of a no-show, no refunds will be available
- Tickets will be delivered digitally to the email address provided at checkout. This digital ticket will be needed to enter the event.
- All classes start promptly at the time they're scheduled for. In the event of tardiness, you may miss certain aspects of the class and may not be able to complete the scheduled project in full
