AMKE CLASS // Cartridge Pleating: Creating Wrist Ruffs

Come make Elizabethan-style wrist ruffs! Using hand sewing techniques and cartridge pleating, students will learn how to measure, mark, pin, and sew cartridge pleats to make ruffle-like wrist cuffs for fantasy costumes, cosplay, or fashion.
In this workshop you'll learn:
- How to measure for cartridge pleats
- Proper pinning technique to create pleats
- How to sew pleats down
Prerequisite Skills:
This is an intermediate course, meaning students should:

- Be comfortable sewing, both by hand and on a machine
- Know how to thread and machine and sew a straight stitch without assistance
- Have finished 2+ sewing projects previously
About the Instructor:
Ai and Blue are professional stitchers from NY that specialize in pattern making, beading, hand finishing and construction.They’ve worked on shows for both film and Broadway, such as Wicked, Lion King and Gilded Age. Their passion for sewing comes from over 15 years of cosplay experience. You can find them on Instagram at Aissac.Cos and Aobittybaby.
The Nitty Gritty:
- To participate in this class you must be at least 16 years of age
- Anyone under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian and a liability waiver must be signed
- Space is limited and all tickets are first come first serve
- Purchasing a ticket reserves one (1) seat at this class. For multiple tickets, please add more than one ticket to your cart
- All tickets are final sale. In the event of a no-show, no refunds will be available
- Tickets will be delivered digitally to the email address provided at checkout. This digital ticket will be needed to enter the event.
- All classes start promptly at the time they're scheduled for. In the event of tardiness, you may miss certain aspects of the class and may not be able to complete the scheduled project in full
