AMKE CLASS // Intro to Soldering

Location: Anime Milwaukee 2025 - Baird Center, North Hall N1 Level, N108C Workshop Room

Class Length: 1.5 hours

Ever wondered how to get costumes or props to light up? In this course, we'll explore the tools and techniques needed to perfect soldering and electrical rigging. We'll learn the basics of working with a soldering iron and spend time practicing our technique with LED strip lights and diodes. Students will leave the class with a completed light up project of their own creation.

In this workshop you'll learn:

• The basics of electrical wiring
• How to use a soldering iron, including safety precautions
• How to create a simple circuit using LED strip lights and diodes
• How to utilize a soldering iron to fuse metal parts

Prerequisite Skills:

• None, beginner friendly

About the Instructor:

Plexi Cosplay is an award-winning cosplayer from Maryland specializing in engineering and costume design. She works as a costume and prop designer for Hacksmith Industries and has worked for international game companies, streaming services like Netflix, and more. The Nitty Gritty:

• To participate in this class you must be at least 16 years of age
• Anyone under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian and a liability waiver must be signed

• Purchasing a ticket reserves one (1) seat at this class. For multiple tickets, please add more than one ticket to your cart
• All tickets are final sale. In the event of a no-show, no refunds will be available
