AMKE CLASS // Make a Ren Faire-Inspired Dice Bag

Join us for a beginner-friendly sewing class where you'll learn how to create your own ren faire-style cinch pouch! Perfect for carrying dice or other small trinkets, this hands-on workshop will guide you through basic sewing techniques, including how to set rivets and install a buckle. No experience necessary – you'll leave with a completed project and new skills to take your cosplay creations to the next level!

In this workshop you'll learn:

• How to work with faux-leather fabrics
• How to install snaps, rivets, and more
• Special machine considerations and tools required to sew heavy fabrics

Prerequisite Skills:

• This is an intermediate course, meaning students should:

  • Be comfortable sewing on a machine
  • Know how to thread and machine and sew a straight stitch without assistance
  • Have finished multiple sewing projects on a machine previously

About the Instructor:

Jessica Barrera, an author, designer, educator, and entrepreneur, has been creatively sewing and crafting since the age of five. She studied entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and now operates her own sewing pattern and supply company, Sallie Tomato. Her innovative designs and products aim to attract the next generations of sewing enthusiasts while appealing to current makers. Aside from running a business, Jess is a mom of two boys and enjoys coffee, home decorating, traveling, yoga, being outdoors, and classic movies.

The Nitty Gritty:

• To participate in this class you must be at least 16 years of age
• Anyone under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian and a liability waiver must be signed
• Space is limited and all tickets are first come first serve
• Purchasing a ticket reserves one (1) seat at this class. For multiple tickets, please add more than one ticket to your cart
• All tickets are final sale. In the event of a no-show, no refunds will be available
• Tickets will be delivered digitally to the email address provided at checkout. This digital ticket will be needed to enter the event.
• All classes start promptly at the time they're scheduled for. In the event of tardiness, you may miss certain aspects of the class and may not be able to complete the scheduled project in full
