We Turned a Café into a Craft Club (and It Ruled)

We Turned a Café into a Craft Club (and It Ruled)

We brought the supplies, you brought the ideas, and somewhere in the middle Van Goghblin Café turned into a full-blown craft club for the night. February’s local edition of Crafter Party in our hometown of Orlando, Florida was packed with tiny projects, big conversations, and a lot of “wait, how did you make that?” moments. Here’s a peek at what went down.

Turning a cafe-space-by-day into a sewing-space-by-night required a lot of planning (and some creative thinking). We had to show up two hours before the event in order to cart everything in, set up the machines, make sure they were threaded properly, and ensure everything was just right.  ☆

We had a cozy group of about 30 people pop in throughout the night, bringing lots of their own crafts and WIPs.

Some of the hobbies repped: sticker collaging, leather working, needle felting, knitting, crocheting, sashiko embroidery, coloring, and drawing.

It's not a CUT/SEW get-together until we break out the sewing machines. During the event we also hosted a sewing class where folks could sew their own Trinket Tote.

Friends both new and old lent a hand to help us break down, making clean up a snap.

These nights always go by a little too quickly, but that’s part of what makes them special. Thank you to everyone who came out, shared their work, and made the space feel so welcoming. If you missed this one, we’ll be doing it again—come join us next time.
