Looking for a fresh way to make your costumes stand out? Fabric embossing is a simple yet striking technique that lets you press permanent raised designs into fabric using heat, pressure, and texture plates or stamps. Whether you want to add regal brocade-style motifs to capes, metallic accents to armor fabrics, or subtle patterns to trims and panels, this class will show you how to elevate your materials with professional-looking texture.

In this beginner-friendly workshop you’ll explore several embossing tools and techniques, from using heat guns and silicone texture mats to experimenting with metallic foils, textile paint, and thermoplastic overlays for different effects. You’ll get hands-on experience creating samples you can use as future cosplay references, and learn how to adapt the technique for a range of fabrics like velvet, faux leather, and suede.

In this workshop you'll learn:

• How to emboss fabric using heat, stamps, and texture plates
• Which fabrics respond best to embossing (and which to avoid)
• How to safely use a heat gun for controlled temperature application
• How to create raised or recessed patterns using silicone mats or rubber stamps
• Optional embellishment techniques with metallic foils, waxes, or textile paint
• Ideas for incorporating embossing into cosplay designs — from armor detailing to decorative trims and bodice panels

• To participate in this workshop, a liability waiver must be completed for all participants
• Anyone under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian
