Come learn a new handicraft in this traditional Japanese sashiko embroidery workshop! You'll join Madison of CUT/SEW as we use their new CRA/FTS line of embroidery kits to complete a hand stitched rabbit motif using classic indigo fabric and Wonderfil's Eleganza egyptian perle cotton thread. You'll leave class with a swatch of fabric that can easily be transformed into a pillow, patch, bento box bag, or scarf.
In this workshop you'll learn:
- A brief history of Sashiko
- How sashiko stitching differs from other traditional handicrafts
- How to perform a basic running stitch
- How to complete a hand sewing project without knotting your thread
Prerequisite Skills:
- None, beginner friendly
