Turn your favorite manga panels into wearable art in this fun, hands-on workshop! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll design and press your own collage-style tote bag using printed manga panels, anime-inspired motifs, and y2k embellishments. Choose from a library of heat-transfer prints, plan your layout, and permanently press your custom design using our studio heat press. Further textural embellishment can be added with grommets, studs, and other 3D mixed media tools.

Once your tote is complete, we’ll explore ways this same technique can level up your cosplay projects — from designing custom fabric prints and badges to adding signature motifs and visual textures to your costumes.

How to safely use a heat press and apply fabric transfers
Composition and layering techniques for layout design
Optional embellishing skills like adding studs, trims, or grommets
How to adapt these methods for cosplay costume details and accessories

About the Instructor:

Kyle is a longtime member of the CUT/SEW team and currently serves as the brand’s Director of Sales. A lifelong hobbyist with a love for painting, model kits, and miniature assembly, Kyle brings an approachable, hands-on energy to every class he teaches. He’s been part of CUT/SEW since its earliest days in 2016, and officially joined full-time in 2023 to help grow and support the community from the inside out. You’ve probably seen him at our booth: he's the super friendly guy in the beanie who’s always ready to chat about your latest project!

To participate in this workshop, a liability waiver must be completed for all participants
Anyone under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian
Space is limited and all tickets are first come first serve
Purchasing a ticket reserves one (1) seat at this class. For multiple tickets, please add more than one ticket to your cart
