Give your clothes a second life (and make them look cooler in the process) with traditional Japanese boro embroidery. In this workshop, we’ll explore the roots of visible mending in Japan and how these techniques turned everyday repairs into something both practical and beautiful.
You’ll create your own patch using scraps of traditional Japanese fabric, then learn simple hand sewing techniques to attach it — transforming worn or damaged fabric into something intentionally designed. It’s equal parts repair and creative expression.
This class is beginner-friendly and easy to follow, even if you’ve never picked up a needle before. You’ll leave with a finished patch and the skills to start mending your own clothes at home — whether that’s fixing a favorite piece or adding a little texture and story to something new.
